I have come back with a third part of the “How to sell anything?” series and this time, let’s notch it up again. Last time, I targeted the general audience and asked them to sell me a steel glass. Can you sell a steel glass? Leave a comment on part 2. ↓

In today’s session, we’ll discuss some tips and tricks for selling more items and cover a short but exciting story! Let’s get inspired.

Simplifying The Simple

*Never Sell The Alternative*

(By Jordan Belfort)

  • Give them exactly what they want. If they’re looking for a pen from a respective company, give them that.
  • Know that you care about your customers. Asking questions about their needs makes them feel at home. Know what they need, sow the questionnaire seed, and lead.

*The Name Sells Itself*

  • I constantly watch Instagram reels. I’m constantly swiping and one thing I find about food blogging videos is that they are a getting huge amount of views and likes just by recording the simple videos of noodles etc.
  • What they’re doing is nothing special! — Just go along with the trend, show the whole cooking process in under 15–20 seconds, and find the differentiator.
  • For example, Flying noodles get millions of views just because of the name of the noodles and the curiousness to know what’s special about them.

*Again, The Differentiator*

  • You need to be special to stand out. You need to be a horse in the rat race.
  • If they’re selling a pen, you sell more than just a pen. But don’t multiply your line of product in your early stages. It applies everywhere, even in our blogs. Short but excellent.

We have a vegetable vendor that comes into our society every 2–3 days and without any hesitation, most of the families buy from that vendor. But why? What’s special about a simple vegetable vendor when 10 other vendors come just like him, selling the same kind of vegetables?

Built His Trust

People have been buying from him for years. The quality of the vegetables he provides is always appreciated. There hasn’t been so much quarrel regarding the quality or quantity of vegetables and he is selling happily here.

Customers=Family

He has always treated his customers like family. Talking to your customers politely and listening to their needs regarding their product is always beneficial. He always responded to the needs of his customers and kept his word about bringing vegetables the very next day.

The Art of Selling

Using adjectives like beautiful, and fresh, he calls out the families telling them the fresh, beautiful vegetables are here. Sometimes, by singing a song in his beautiful voice, which is a way to be trendy in this era, he attracts the people around. This is his differentiator which helps him stay alive in his business. It’s not easy to sell by going door-to-door but if he can do it, you can too!

I wanted to discuss the tips and tricks rather than selling some items by myself this time. You learn from the environment around you, and you grow. Get inspired and start marketing your product in the most special way you can! Catchy titles and short blogs can fetch you thousands of views so why not start doing it today?
