I Experienced The Power of Consistency and Failure
I never imagined that I would write an article about consistency while being inconsistent on Medium. Isn’t it ironic? The voyage on Medium has been quite difficult. A lot has changed from writing about “true friendship” and “love” to delving into the world of marketing. I completed many internships, attended college, and — most importantly — I dropped weight.
I used to believe that I couldn’t do either this or that. My entire life was focused on seeing other people succeed, and up until I learned about constancy, I always believed that I couldn’t get what I wanted. Since then, everything has changed, and I can’t wait to continue taking calculated risks.
One Step Towards Failure
“Nobody wants to go till failure, nobody wants to go that far”. — Tom Platz
While in reality failure implies “pushing past our comfort zones and trying because you believed in yourself without the assurance of success,” failure is what our minds interpret as “failing to achieve something.” Those who fail are never appreciated but when they win, they’re highly appreciated. Nobody cares about the process but you! The billionaires, great inventors, and the brilliant minds didn’t achieve victory overnight. Consistency in failure is what brought them success just because they didn’t stop trying.
If you’re afraid of failing, you’re afraid of success. One step towards failure is one step towards success. Even when you’re in the gym, you workout to a certain point where your legs shake and the last rep feels like the whole body is giving its 100% to curl those dumbells. You feel tired but you come again the next day because you know that achieving the dream physique requires sheer dedication and consistency. You fail everyday but that’s when your muscles actually grow. You pushed yourself beyond your limits, stayed consistent in the gym, and that’s what matters.
What Consistency Brought Me?
I started believing in the power of consistency. I stayed consistent while writing on Medium with no guarantee of success but believed in myself. I failed and I failed and I failed but it helped me land various paid internships and get recognition for various articles that actually helped a couple lads to be consistent in their field.
I was always an obese kid and I regret not starting my transformation journey earlier. I have still a long way to go. Fat shaming worked like a charm and I thank all the people who didn’t sugar-coat things for me. Staying consistent helped me lose 9–10 kg in 3 months and I was much more confident. I feel happy whenever I see myself in the mirror. I never thought I’d be able to lose fat and get in shape.
Overthinking and imagination are the two worst enemies of consistency. Stop dreaming and start acting. Go “personal growth mode” for 6 months and see how your life turns around for good! Staying consistent could be one of the best decisions for your mental health too! Now, I couldn’t wait to start the 75 Days Hard Challenge! Let’s go!
Consistency is The Key
If you’re looking for the key, it’s consistenkey. (ok that was bad lol). Keep trying, the worst that could happen is you could fail but do you think that we only fail? No, we learn and grow as we fail. Most people don’t start and never fail and then blame nobody but God for their downfall. The F in Successful stands for Failure because a successful person went through ungodly amounts of failure before reaching the final destination, the success. The power is within you! You just have to listen to your mind and not the heart. Do what’s right, not what’s comfortable.
